I started out in 1999 , with the excuse to get drunk and go hit ravers. Eventually the band Rust started with long time friends and musos Hugo Pelzer and Robert Fick. Played for 2 years every chance we could get, mostly wasted, can’t remember much. Changed the name to C4 and got the hottest bassist that has every come out of SA (my opinion), Ian Strugnell, and started taking it a bit more seriously.
Played for 6 years all round SA until Ian imagrated to Australia and Hugo left for Jo’burg.
Thought that was it , getting old for this and all that crap.
2 Years later, (March ‘09) contact Barry and told him we have to do something… and Soul of a New Machine was born!
